Yes, apparently so. especially if you asked the guys at TheDailyMeal.com, who compiled a list of 17 best pizza chains in the world via user travel & food blogs. Our very own Greenwich Pizza beat out pizza chains from Canada, UK, Norway, and Australia, among others, surrendering the top spot to Spain. I am pleasantly surprised that aside from us, many other Asian countries appeared in the list, like Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. The pizza had really become a global food. I for one have tried Pizza Company (Thailand) and they serve great pizza, indeed.
But I am quite happy that people like Greenwich. It is a local brand, after all, facing global brands like Pizza Hut and Domino’s and Sbarro’s in the Philippines. Like its mother/ sister company Jollibee, who has consistently beat McDonald’s at its own game, Greenwich is staking its own claim in the market. I have to admit that I don’t really eat at Greenwich, largely because I try to minimize eating fast foods. But I have tried their thin pizza (pictured above) and I liked it a lot.
They had this to say about Greenwich:
“The largest pizza chain in the Philippines also has a reputation for being its most beloved. With a thin crust and an array of toppings, it isn’t hard to see why! Pizza patrons who particularly love variety can enjoy one of their signature meals which include a slice of pizza, chicken, spaghetti, rice, and a Coke.”
